What People Are Saying
"I won't trust anyone else other than AMK Compensation Lawyers. They are compassionate, caring and provide a personal, human touch in tough situations. They made sure to provide the best outcome and actually over-achieved and got a better result due to their knowledge and long standing within the industry."
"I truly believe that if it was not for Michael and his team at AMK Compensation Lawyers, I might not be here writing this review today. Michael is an incredibly smart man and has worked as a defence lawyer for the insurers before starting his own firm. He foresaw and knew every tactic they used before they used it. To this day I am still blown away how Michael and AMK Compensation Lawyers got the insurer to a really good settlement when I was backed into a corner. I am forever grateful."
"Thank you to all the team at AMK Compensation Lawyers for all your support. Michael has a ton of knowledge and has led and guided me throughout the whole process. Thank you Michael — your knowledge allowed me to get a good result. Highly recommend."
"Michael Singh was an incredible help during a very difficult recovery. He was patient, kind, and professional, providing a no-nonsense assessment that honestly accounted for both the physical injuries and the mental health toll. It's rare to find a lawyer who handles every single detail personally. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would do it in a heartbeat."
"AMK Compensation Lawyers were very supportive in my matter. The teamwork across the firm was excellent. Their communication was clear at every step and I would be more than happy to work with them again."
"When I had a motor vehicle accident, I was very scared and confused. After I talked to Mr. Michael Singh, I knew I'd be in good hands. From day one the level of communication and guidance was really outstanding. I am eternally grateful to Michael, Michelle and the team for everything they did. Moving forward after the accident feels easy with AMK Compensation Lawyers."

When Can You Claim For An Injury In An Ipswich Public Place?
If the person or business responsible for the place failed to take reasonable care, and that failure caused your injury, you may have a public liability claim.
Shopping centres, supermarkets, councils, landlords and businesses all owe a duty to keep their premises reasonably safe. Not every fall leads to a claim; the question is whether the hazard was something they should have found and dealt with.
For a broader explanation of these claims across the state, see our public liability page.
What Should You Do Straight After A Fall?
Report the incident, photograph the hazard and your injuries, collect the names of any witnesses, and get medical treatment the same day if you can.
Ask the centre or business to record the incident and keep any CCTV. That footage is frequently overwritten within days, so the request to preserve it is one of the first things AMK sends.
Keep the shoes you were wearing, your receipts and any notes about what you saw. Small details become important once the insurer starts asking questions.
How Long Do You Have To Bring A Claim?
Court proceedings must generally start within 3 years of the injury, but notice under the pre-court process is due much earlier.
Under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act, the person responsible must be notified within 9 months of the incident, or within 1 month of first consulting a lawyer about it. Leaving it late makes the claim harder and the evidence weaker.
If you are not sure whether you are still in time, call us and we will tell you where you stand.
Are Council Footpath Claims Different?
They can be. Councils are not liable for every crack in a footpath, so these claims depend on what the council knew and what it did about it.
Evidence of earlier complaints, repair records and photographs of the hazard all matter. AMK investigates whether the defect had been reported and whether the council had a reasonable chance to fix it.

Frequently Asked Questions.
I fell in an Ipswich shopping centre. Do I have a claim?
Possibly. It depends on whether the centre failed to take reasonable care, for example by leaving a spill unattended. Report the fall, take photos and ask for the CCTV to be kept.
How long do I have to make a public liability claim in Ipswich?
Court proceedings generally have to start within 3 years, but notice to the person responsible is due within 9 months of the incident or 1 month of consulting a lawyer. Get advice early.
Can I claim against Ipswich City Council for a footpath fall?
Sometimes. Councils are not responsible for every defect, so these claims depend on evidence about the hazard and what the council knew about it.
What if there were no witnesses to my fall?
You may still have a claim. Prompt reporting, medical records, photographs and CCTV can all support what happened.
